Hot air balloon flights take place at sunrise when winds are calmest, ensuring safe conditions and the best views over the Cradle of Humankind.

3. How long does a hot air balloon flight last?
The flight itself lasts about 1 hour. You’ll witness your balloon being rigged and inflated before take-off, enjoy the stunning sunrise from the sky, and experience a thrilling landing. From arrival to post-flight breakfast at Kloofzicht Lodge, the full experience typically takes 3–4 hours.

4. Are hot air balloon flights safe?
Yes! Safety is our top priority. AirVentures is a fully licensed non-scheduled airline, registered with the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) - Air Service Licence number N873D & G874D, and flown by experienced, licensed pilots. Flights only operate in suitable weather conditions.

5. What happens if the weather is bad on the day of my flight?
If conditions aren’t safe, your flight will be rescheduled for a convenient date. Perfect weather ensures a smooth and enjoyable experience, so it’s always worth the wait.

6. Is there an age or height requirement?
Children must be over 120 cm (1.2 m) tall, 7 years or older, and able to stand unassisted to fly. This ensures they can safely see over the basket edge.

7. Can pregnant women or people with medical conditions fly?
Pregnant women cannot fly due to safety considerations. If you have a medical condition, please consult your doctor before booking.

Yes! AirVentures offers exclusive flights for two as well as group options. Our largest balloons carry up to 16 passengers, ensuring comfort and plenty of space for everyone. Specify your preference when enquiring.

10. Do you sell gift vouchers, and how long are they valid?
Yes, gift vouchers are available and valid for 12 months from the date of purchase—perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, or special occasions.
